Inhuman Kiss: A Compelling Tale of Love, Myth and Intrigue

The movie “Inhuman Kiss” is a stunning interpretation of a traditional Thai myth that has never been explored before in film. Directed by Sitisiri Mongkolsiri, the film tells the story of an unusual relationship between a young woman and a ghost, with all the intrigue, mystery and conflict that come with it.

At the heart of the film is the relationship between Phan (played by Kunatip Pinpradub), a young man who dies tragically, and his girlfriend Koryang (Phantira Pipityakorn). After Phan’s death, Koryang is visited by his ghost who not only returns to her but also grants her wishes.

As their relationship evolves over the course of the movie, we see Koryang drawn into a world of mythological creatures such as demons and monsters while battling against supernatural forces to help her beloved.

One of the most intriguing aspects of “Inhuman Kiss” is how it blends elements from traditional Thai folklore with modern storytelling techniques. This creates an atmospheric movie that is both captivating and contemporary enough to appeal to audiences around the world.

The casting in this movie is impressive; lead actor Pinpradub delivers an emotionally charged performance, capturing both sorrow and love beautifully. Meanwhile, co-star Pipityakorn also shines as Koryang – she portrays a character who at first appears timid but gradually becomes more confident as she navigates through her supernatural journey.

The cinematography is one of the stand-out features in this movie. The director uses visual effects to create an eerie atmosphere throughout different scenes while still maintaining realism in others. This aspect adds depth to the scenes while keeping audiences engaged at every moment.

The hauntingly beautiful score also complements each scene effortlessly without overpowering any dialogues or visuals. It enhances delicate moments and even increases tension during high-intensity scenes.

Despite the movie being based on an age-old legend, “Inhuman Kiss” is not antiquated. The plot and storyline are refreshing while still managing to remain loyal to its roots. It demonstrates how filmmakers can inject new life into old myths while combining them with modern storytelling techniques.

From an evaluation point of view, “Inhuman Kiss” is impressive. Critics have praised its unique storyline and stunning cinematography. It has received numerous accolades including Best Special Effects at the Thailand National Film Association Awards, where it was also nominated for Best Director, Best Supporting Actress (Phantira Pipityakorn), and Best Screenplay.

The filming locations were breathtaking. Filmed entirely in Northern Thailand, “Inhuman Kiss” showcases some of Thailand’s most picturesque landscapes that beautifully add depth to each scene they feature in.

As far as gossip goes surrounding the film, there has been none of note except for rumors that the ghost makeup and costumes were inspired by Thai mythology; this only adds to its authenticity.

One area where the movie falls short is in terms of pacing. While initially engaging right from the start, there are a few moments where the story slows down considerably- even though these scenes are still visually impressive, they can detract from the overall flow of the movie.

The film’s dialogue could also be a bit more dynamic as there are moments when characters seem to be delivering their lines without much emotion or conviction. That being said, these minor issues do not take away from the overall enjoyment of watching “Inhuman Kiss.”

Overall “Inhuman Kiss” is a stunning and captivating film that tells a timeless tale about love and devotion while weaving mythological creatures into contemporary storytelling techniques. The cinematography is excellent, casting is near-perfect, and story amounts to one that audiences worldwide will enjoy. It’s safe to say Mongkolsiri deserves all credits for creating such an exceptional masterpiece that deserves recognition both in Thailand and abroad.
